New Information and Upcoming Events

Senior Class of 2008

Week of 4/22-4/25 Playing with pride, the Mustangs finished up the 2008 season against two teams fighting for playoff spots

On Tuesday, the squad pushed the Lewisville Farmers for 11 innings before falling 5-4 in a well-played ballgame.

With contributions from every member of the 2008 class, including a great pitching performance by Ben Chrisman, the Mustangs eliminated their Newman Smith rivals from the playoffs by defeating the Trojans 8-3 on Friday. The team honored their seniors with ceremonies after the game.

Week of 4/01-4/04 - The Mustangs search for some extra offensive punch continues as the team came up short by one run in both district games this week dropping Tuesday’s 10 inning game 2-1 to Newman Smith and then losing 4-3 to Hebron on Friday night.

Week of 3/25-3/28 - The Mustangs had a tough week last week by dropping district match ups against both Flower Mound and Lewisville. The squad will try to get back on track this week against their cross-town rival Newman Smith at Kelly Field-Tuesday 4/01/08.

Week of 3/18-3/21 - The Mustangs managed a 1-2 record this week after battling the weather and one of the top teams in the area.

The Mustangs couldn’t get on track and dropped their district record to 1-2 on Thursday as the Coppell Cowboys visited Creekview.

On Friday, the team hosted R.L. Turner and pulled their district record back even at 2-2 with a win that saw the return to the mound of senior pitcher Ben Chrisman and was highlighted by a walk off homerun by sophomore Nick Bell.

On Saturday, the team hosted the Longhorns of W.T. White in a close non-district match-up in which the Mustangs came up short, 6-4.

Week of 3/11-3/15 - The Mustangs opened up district play by hosting their cross town rivals to the north, the Hebron Hawks, on Tuesday 3/11. A strong Hawk squad took round one of district competition 5-2.

On Friday, March 14th, the Mustangs traveled to Flower Mound Marcus and pulled their district record even by defeating the Marauders 3-2. The Mustangs put in a strong all around performance capped off with a heart-stopping, bases loaded, back-to-back game ending strikeout pitching performance by Nick Duncan.

The Mustangs had the opportunity to travel to the Frisco RoughRiders stadium Saturday, March 15th, to play our own Coach Herrick’s son, Ty Herrick, and his Naaman Forest Rangers teammates.  Although the Mustangs fell to the Rangers 4-1, a good time was had by all as the players enjoyed the experience of playing at the RoughRiders ballpark.

Mustangs Win CHS Mustang Tournament    –  Congratulations to the Mustangs for taking care of business by going 3-1 and winning their home tournament. The squad used solid pitching and hitting along with aggressive base running to outscore their opposition 36-18 in the four game set. Great job guys!

Also, many thanks to all the volunteers who helped make the tournament a great success.

Week 2 - The weather limited the Mustangs to a Tuesday scrimmage game @ Colleyville-Heritage with Friday's game being canceled. The Varsity will try to play their last two scrimmage games on Monday 2/18 @ 4pm & 6pm before the Creekview Mustang Tournament begins on Thursday  2/21.

Week 1 - The Creekview Mustangs kicked off the start of the 2008 baseball campaign this week with a pair of scrimmages against Highland Park and McKinney. The Varsity squad turned in overall solid pitching and defensive performances as new Head Coach John Herrick and staff evaluated the team. Visit the Varsity photo page to view scrimmage slideshow.

Our own Juan Thrasher was honored Wednesday, February 6th, 2008, during a ceremony held at Creekview for National Signing Day.  Juan signed with Virginia Military Institute - football.  Congratulations to Juan and the entire Thrasher family!

Volunteers - We would like to have any photos or video you will have taken this season for either the website or the highlight video.  We are in particular need for any material taken of the JV team during the 2008 season.  Any additional material we receive will increase the quality of this memorable keepsake.  Please contact Ken at admin@creekview-baseball.com.
